Free NDVI Calculator Online
Browse global vegetation health below — live, free, no login. Then calculate field-level 10m NDVI from Sentinel-2 for your own area of interest.
This map is 250-500m global data. Your fields deserve 10m Sentinel-2 NDVI.
TL;DR: NDVI = (NIR - Red) / (NIR + Red). Values -1 to +1; healthy vegetation 0.3-0.8. The map above shows global NDVI from NASA VIIRS (8-day, 500m) and MODIS (16-day archive since 2000, 250m) — free, no login. For field-level detail, Off-Nadir Delta calculates NDVI from Sentinel-2 B8 (842nm) and B4 (665nm) at 10m resolution. Used for crop health, deforestation, drought monitoring.
Understanding NDVI Values
How NDVI Works
Why It Works
Healthy vegetation absorbs red light for photosynthesis and strongly reflects near-infrared (NIR) light. Stressed or sparse vegetation reflects more red and less NIR, resulting in lower NDVI values.
Sentinel-2 Bands Used
- • B8 (NIR): 842 nm, 10m resolution
- • B4 (Red): 665 nm, 10m resolution
- • Result: 10-meter NDVI map
