Track World Events With ChatGPT or Claude
Your assistant reads what it can fetch when you ask. Off-Nadir Delta keeps reading when you don’t, and keeps the record. Connect the two, and the assistant reasons over that record.
Quick answer — what Off-Nadir Delta is
A general AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude can search and summarise the news whenever you ask, but each answer is built from what it fetches for that request. It does not keep a record of each event with its earlier values and the source of every change, it can read fifty reprints as fifty confirmations, and it cannot see events that were never reported. Off-Nadir Delta keeps that record continuously: in the 24 hours to 19 October 2026 it took in 15,122 articles. Connect it to the assistant over MCP and the assistant answers from the record instead of re-reading the news.
What can an AI assistant do with world news on its own?
Facts last reviewed 2026-10-19.
| Task | AI assistant on its own | AI assistant with Off-Nadir Delta connected |
|---|---|---|
| Summarise today’s reporting on one event | yes — search and read | yes — from the event record, with every source behind it |
| Tell one event apart from fifty reprints | Reads what search returns; reprints can look like separate confirmations | Reports of the same event are folded into one record; the outlet count is breadth, not independent confirmation |
| Say what changed since last week | Searches again and reads what ranks now | Each change is recorded with its earlier value and the source behind it (query_developments, get_event_thread) |
| Watch a place and say when something changes | Some apps can repeat a request on a schedule; each run is a new search | A watch on a facility, area or event is checked every hour; changes arrive in the app, by email, or in Slack, Discord or a webhook |
| Say how precisely the place is known | Names the place in prose | reported, localized or pinpointed, with the reason it stopped there |
| Say whether a satellite could check it, and when | Has to reason it out from the text | Whether the event is observable from orbit and why not, the scenes over it, and the next passes (plan_event_imagery, predict_satellite_passes) |
| See events that never reached the news | Not in search results | Measured events: satellite heat sources near facilities, ship transits through straits, night-light drops, SO2 near volcanoes, quakes and cyclone winds near facilities |
The left column describes how a general assistant works with web search, not any one product’s current feature list. The right column is what Off-Nadir Delta records today; the methodology page has the rules and the latest quality checks, and the article on why has the measurements and sources. Off-Nadir Delta is an independent project and is not affiliated with OpenAI or Anthropic.
What can you ask once Delta is connected?
Ask in plain language. The assistant picks the tool; each answer carries its sources, and a tool your plan does not open says which plan does.

How It Works
Create a free Off-Nadir Delta account
No credit card. Calls are metered in tokens from your balance, and get_usage tells the assistant what is left at no cost.
Add the MCP server to your assistant
In Claude (claude.ai or Claude Desktop): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste https://offnadir-delta.com/api/v1/mcp and approve the login. In ChatGPT: enable Developer mode under Settings → Connectors → Advanced (not every plan has it), then add the same URL. Other MCP clients are covered in the MCP docs.
Ask about the world as usual
The assistant calls Delta when the question needs the record — what changed, where, how sure, and whether a satellite can check it — and keeps doing the explaining.
