Summary

Four Naga civilians were reported killed near Pilong village in Manipur's Kamjong district close to the Myanmar border on September 25, 2026. Suspected militants allegedly carried out the attack; local sources and the Tangkhul Naga Long alleged involvement of the Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B) and Myanmar-based armed groups. Police had not confirmed the killings. One villager reportedly escaped. Blood stains were noticed at the site. Two days later on September 26, two more Naga civilians, Rocky Mao and Kumar Poumai, were shot dead in Senapati district's Kalenjang village, with two others injured. The cause and perpetrators of the Senapati incident remain unknown. Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh condemned both incidents. However, former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and the United Naga Council denied the killings occurred, while Naga People's Front MLA Awangbou Newmai also denied them.
