Summary

On October 11, 2026, Spanish National Police, the Civil Guard, local Ceuta police, and the Armed Forces conducted a forced removal operation at the Guano esplanade, which served as the last major makeshift migrant camp in the area. More than 350 officers participated in the early-morning mission to dismantle the site, which also included the area known as El Trampolin. While many migrants were transported to reception centers for processing, some individuals fled into the nearby hills to avoid the authorities. The operation took place shortly before a scheduled visit to the territory by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
