Summary

A Russian drone struck an educational institution in central Rivne on October 13, 2026. Reports identify the target as either a school or Rivne State University of the Humanities. The strike caused a fire that was subsequently extinguished, and damaged the building's second floor and facade. Parked cars, a mobile coffee shop, and nearby buildings were also damaged. Casualty figures vary across reports, ranging from 14 to 30 injured, with some accounts noting individuals in serious condition requiring surgery and one in intensive care. Police officers and Security Service of Ukraine personnel worked at the scene. The building was deemed unfit for in-person instruction, and the university considered switching to remote learning.
