Summary

Russia is nearing the completion of a large radar complex near Gvardeysk in the Kaliningrad exclave. Identified by reports as likely being a 29B6 Container over-the-horizon system, the installation features three antenna arms each exceeding 500 meters in length. It is expected to have a surveillance range of approximately 3,000 kilometers, providing capabilities to track aircraft, ballistic missiles, and ships, as well as intercept satellite communications and suppress electronic signals. A second large circular radar facility is also under construction near Chernyakhovsk, though its specific purpose remains unknown. NATO members are monitoring the developments, which analysts suggest could increase regional military tensions.
