Summary

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian claimed that a supertanker carrying over 2 million barrels of crude oil struck a naval mine in the Strait of Hormuz, caught fire, and was immobilized. The IRGC alleged the vessel attempted to transit through an unauthorized route with its radar and positioning systems disabled. The US military denied the incident occurred. Iran's navy has not confirmed the claim. A vessel was observed burning, according to Iranian state media (IRNA), though the cause of the fire has not been independently verified. No death or injury count has been established for this incident.
