Summary

On October 11, 2026, members of the Tinubu Must Go movement alleged that police vehicles were used to barricade The Avenue Event Center, preventing them from accessing the venue for a planned meeting. Abba Hikima, the group's leader, claimed that law enforcement hindered their assembly, while the African Democratic Congress criticized the reported crackdown as unconstitutional. However, Kano State Police Commissioner Ibrahim Bakori denied that officers stopped the group from assembling, stating that the force was focused on safety and had requested a delay for further dialogue. The incident remains unconfirmed by CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.
